UP Pahinungód conducts UPCAT simulation and capacity-building activities in South Upi, Maguindanao

The Ugnayan ng Pahinungód directors, staff, and faculty volunteers systemwide conducted an UPCAT simulation and capacity-building training sessions in the municipality of South Upi, Maguindanao, last March 16, 2023, as part of the activities for the 34th Council Meeting held in Cotabato last March 13-17, 2023.
The team, composed of Pahinungód directors, staff, and faculty volunteers, conducted an UPCAT simulation for 374 Grades 10 and 11 students of South Upi National High School to help students familiarize themselves with the test-taking process.

Meanwhile, 81 teachers from South Upi National High School, Lumao National High School, Pandan National High School, and Looy Integrated Technical Vocational School joined the teacher-training sessions on the following topics: action research, media trends and education, and therapeutic communication, with Pahinungód Cebu director Prof. Aurelio Vilbar, PhD (upper left photo), Pahinungód Baguio faculty volunteer Benjamin George Meamo III (upper right photo) and Pahinungód Open University director Asst. Prof. Queenie Roxas-Ridulme, MAN, RN (lower left photo), as resource speakers, respectively.
Twenty-one (21) barangay workers of Barangay Romongaob, South Upi, attended the Ridge-to-Reef Approach to Resource Management training conducted by Pahinungód Visayas director, Asst. Prof. Farisal Bagsit, PhD (lower right photo), in the afternoon.
Earlier that day, the team, headed by Pahinungód System Director, Prof. Marie Therese Angeline P. Bustos, PhD, paid a courtesy visit to the officials of the municipality and presented the Kaibigan ng Pahinungód token for Municipal Mayor Hon. Reynalbert Insular as appreciation to the municipality’s support to the three Gurong Pahinungód volunteers deployed in South Upi under the Memorandum of Agreement between UP and BARMM Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education.

South Upi is a fourth-class municipality in the province of Maguindanao in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). They are currently hosting the three UP alumni who are serving as volunteer teachers (Gurong Pahinungód) under the UP-BARMM MBHTE Memorandum of Agreement.
